Conquering the Sidobre
Nestled between the enchanting towns of Castres and Albi, lies a truly enchanting place: the Sidobre. This remarkable granite plateau, unique in Europe, is a haven for nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike.

Hop on your mountain bike or lace up your hiking boots and embark on an extraordinary journey through this captivating territory. Along the winding paths, you will encounter awe-inspiring boulders such as the Peyro Clabado, the Roc de l'Oie, and the Rocher Tremblant. These magnificent rock formations, shaped by the forces of erosion, stand as testament to the awe-inspiring power of nature.

However, the Sidobre is not simply a realm of breathtaking landscapes. It is also a land steeped in legends and mysteries. During your exploration, you will uncover historically significant sites like the Maison du Sidobre or the St Salvy granite quarry, which happens to be the largest open-air quarry in all of Europe.

If you find yourself in need of rejuvenation, do not hesitate to pause at one of the many streams that meander through the Sidobre or visit the tranquil Lac du Merle. Here, you can indulge in trout or crayfish fishing, and I would be delighted to prepare a delectable meal with your catch.

The Sidobre is a place that will continuously surprise you at every turn. It is a realm where the enchantment of nature is ever-present. So, without further ado, set forth on an unforgettable journey to conquer its treasures!

Directions

To get to the guesthouse, start in Castres and follow the signs to Roquecourbe or Burlats. Once you reach Lacrouzette, locate the church in the village. Take the street that runs alongside the right side of the church. Along this street, you will pass by the École St Joseph and the cemetery. Then, make a right turn onto the Chemin de la Fourézié. The guesthouse will be the first house on the left, distinguished by its white shutters. You can park your vehicle at the bottom of the house. Rest assured, I will be there to greet you upon your arrival.
