Description for Gite

Welcome to Tauleigne, a vacation house located on the border of a massive forest spanning hundreds of acres. Situated on the south side of a mountain, the property offers a stunning view and is protected from the Mistral winds by nearby cliffs. Tauleigne is located at the limits of the community of Bollène in the department of Vaucluse and the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. While the postal address is in Saint-Restitut, the entrance to the property is accessed from the little village of Saint-Restitut in the Drôme, Rhône-Alpes region.

Getting to Tauleigne is easy via the A7 highway, taking the Bollène exit and following the provided itinerary for 7 kilometers.

The property itself is sprawling over 32 acres and features oak and evergreen oak trees planted in large ledges. The majestic circus of rocks and cliffs, along with the ruins of the Château de Chabrière, create a serene atmosphere. Explore the numerous pedestrian paths that wind through the property and discover exceptional views of the countryside, including Bollène, the Dentelles de Montmirail, and the Mont Ventoux. Relax in the grass garden lined with laurel roses, lavender, snatolines, and rosemary, or enjoy the shaded areas provided by the oak trees. Children can have fun splashing in the swimming pool, while a consolidated ruin nearby serves as a barbecue corner. Dine outdoors at the large garden table and extend your evenings with the outdoor lighting. The terraces around the house are perfect for playing pétanque. Additionally, a local cabana near the pool houses the pool filters, a washer for clothes, a refrigerator, and toilets. The garden and swimming pool are maintained twice a week, and the sprinkling is automatic.

Tauleigne can accommodate up to 10 to 12 people and is an ancient Provençal masonry made of regional stones dating back to the early 19th century. The house features stone windowsills and door frames, as well as a roof made of ancient Roman tiles. The facade boasts two front doors, one leading to the living room and the other to the kitchen.

On the first floor, you will find three interconnected rooms with stone walls and tiled floors. The kitchen, located on the left upon entering, features a very old mantle. It is equipped with modern amenities, including a sink, four electric burners, an aspirator, an electric oven, a dishwasher, a chopping block/working area, multiple sockets, and all the necessary materials for cooking. A table and chairs in the front of the room create a cozy ambiance for meals. To the right, you will find an ancient stone sink. The living room, situated in the center of the house, has well-preserved stone walls and a ceiling made of wood logs and large planks. A wood hearth adds warmth during colder seasons, while couches and armchairs provide comfortable seating for reading, watching television, or enjoying a nice evening. A cordless telephone is also available in the living room. The dining room features a large table surrounded by stone walls.

The second floor is accessed via a staircase hidden behind the living room. It leads to a hallway with five interior doors and one exterior door in the old wall. The first door on the right opens to the largest room above the living room. It is furnished with a double bed, night tables, and a dresser. There is also space to store luggage, and an infant's bed can be provided if needed. Two windows in a stone wall offer views of the garden and swimming pool. The room also has a telephone jack. The second door on the right leads to a closet, which is not accessible to tenants. The exterior door in the old wall functions as a window, providing some light and air.

The third door in the hallway opens to a bathroom with white tiles and orange flower designs. It includes a sink and a shower/bath with a mixer tap and thermostatic control. The fourth door gives access to the second room, featuring a double bed, night tables, and a built-in wardrobe.

To the left of the staircase, an ancient door leads to the second night hallway. It provides access to three doors and a staircase. The first door opens to a toilet, while the second door leads to another bathroom with colorful tiles. This bathroom offers a shower/bath, a sink, and shelving. The third door leads to a youthful room with two single beds, one of which has a pull-out bed.

The staircase from the second floor leads to the third floor, which is a dormitory under a mansard roof. It is divided by a wardrobe and features two beds on each side, with two of them having pull-out beds. This dormitory can accommodate up to six people. All the rooms on the second and third floors, except for the bathrooms and toilets, have polished and finished pine wood floors.

In addition to the stunning property, Tauleigne offers easy access to various tourist attractions in the region. Explore the charming stone-age village, visit the medieval Château de Barry and the ruins of Château de Chabrière, and enjoy panoramic views from the plateau and the nearby Celliers du Dauphin aging cellars. Saint-Restitut is known for its ancient stone quarries, which have been transformed into a theater of images with various themes. Don't miss the lavender fields that bloom from mid-June to the end of July, offering picturesque walks. The region also offers attractions such as Mont-Ventoux, Avignon with its famous festival in July, the Palais des Papes, the Pont Saint-Benezet, the fortress of Mornas, the Roman ruins of Orange and Vaison-la-Romaine, the Château de Grignan, the Château de Suze-la-Rousse, the Abbey de Sénanque, the Baux-de-Provence, the bories (houses made of flat stones), the Château des Adhémar, the village of Poète-Laval, and the Garde-Adhémar de Gorde.
