Riad Dades is a grand kasbah that overlooks the entire Dades Valley. Each of our rooms offers breathtaking views of the beautiful valley through their windows.Our traditional construction methods include the use of adobes, which are sun-dried mud and straw bricks. These bricks are used to create thin walls, pillars, arches, and decorative elements, all bound together by the same mud and straw mixture.
Another construction technique we employ is the pisé or rammed soil method. This involves piling damp earth without straw into a wooden formwork and compacting it to create solid walls. The characteristic holes left by the supporting sticks can be filled with soil if desired.
Both the interior and exterior walls and roofs are coated with a mixture of mud and straw. This coating is renewed every 6 years for the walls, but should be done every 2 years for the terraces.
The ceilings of Riad Dades are constructed with reeds placed on wooden beams made from aspen trees. These reeds can be replaced with bamboo stems to create intricate geometric designs. The entire ceiling is then covered with a layer of soil that is approximately 25 centimeters thick.

Directions
To reach Riad Dades from the N10 main road (Ouarzazate to Errachidia), take the secondary road N704 (Boumalne Dadès to Msemrir) at the roundabout just before Boumalne Dadès. If you are coming from Tinghir and pass through the town of Boumalen Dadès, cross the Oued Dadès Bridge. The riad is located 9 km from this roundabout in the beautiful village of Ait Ibrirne. The GPS coordinates are: 31.436579°N, -6.010036°E.
If you are using public transport, the Boumalene Dadès bus station is only 9 km away from Ait Ibrirne village, where Riad Dades is located. If you provide us with your arrival time, we will come and pick you up from the bus station. At the bus station, there are two types of taxis available. The mini-buses, mostly Mercedes Benz 207 or 307, have 15 seats. The grand taxis, mostly Romanian car DACIA Lodgy, can accommodate six passengers plus the driver. The cost of the journey is 5 dhs per person. Just inform them that you are going to Riad Dades, and everyone will help you reach us.
Ouarzazate airport is located 130 km away from Riad Dades. It takes approximately 2 hours by private car or taxi, with a cost of 3 € per person for a taxi. Many buses depart from Ouarzazate towards Boumalene Dadès, where we can pick you up from the bus station. Please let us know your arrival time.
