Description for Gite
Welcome to the Pinot Black cottage, located in the charming Clos de Guignes, a historic winery with a rich story to tell. Dating back to the seventeenth century, this estate in Tavers (45) is deeply connected to the history of the Loire Valley. It was once inhabited by monks from the diocese of Meung-sur-Loire, who produced wine enjoyed by the royal tables, most notably King Louis XIII himself. As you enter the property, you will be greeted by the picturesque farmhouse adorned with roses. This former wine farm boasts a stunning vineyard square that leads the way to a beautifully landscaped garden, open for you to explore and discover hidden corners where our playful hens roam. The main highlight of Clos de Guignes is the tranquil and rejuvenating atmosphere, complemented by a heated pool and spa area, located near the charming pergola. If the weather permits, we invite you to relax in the riverside cabin, offering a peaceful retreat or an opportunity for fishing enthusiasts. In the morning, you may even catch a glimpse of deer frolicking in the nearby woods or pheasants leisurely strolling around.
Our warm and friendly hospitality is always present as we interact with our guests. The cottage itself is situated in one of the outbuildings of our own residence, providing you with the independence and privacy you desire during your stay. We take pleasure in ensuring that you enjoy all the amenities our property and the surrounding area have to offer. It's important to note that the attic space with two single beds may not be suitable for elderly guests. However, the cottage is ideal for families with children or groups of friends.
The Pinot Black cottage is conveniently located just ten minutes from Beaugency station and 150km from Paris. You will find yourself in close proximity to the Loire River, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which can be explored on foot or by utilizing the bicycles we provide. Within a short distance from the cottage, you can also visit the renowned vineyards and castles of the Loire, such as Chambord, Blois, and Meung-sur-Loire. For those seeking more adventurous activities, the Beauval Zoo and Sologne Karting are easily accessible.
