The house perfectly combines old-world charm with modern touches, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. Situated on the outskirts of the village, the tranquil sounds and sights of the nearby river can be enjoyed, while still being right in the heart of the old medieval center.

At La Souqueto, guests can expect a relaxed and friendly ambiance, with plenty of opportunities to engage the body, mind, and senses. A delicious breakfast awaits each morning, featuring freshly made coffee, tea, croissants, breads, conserves, and fresh fruit. Additionally, a seasonal treat, such as a tart, a layered yogurt-and-fruit cup, or a cake, is often included. The house is adorned with beautiful decor and artifacts, and guests can find inspiration in the libraries and spacious, bright artist's studio. For moments of relaxation, there is a roof terrace and a small patio available. The rooms are charmingly decorated and come equipped with toiletries, hairdryers, and fluffy towels. If there is anything else you need, just ask, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

For dinner, guests have the option of requesting evening meals, but there are also two restaurants within walking distance, one conveniently located next door and another by the river. The village itself offers various activities, including swimming, petanque, tennis, fishing, and horseback riding.

Additionally, being located right beside the picturesque Canal du Midi, you can take leisurely walks, cycle, or even cruise along the shaded paths and waterways. Bicycles and boats are available for hire locally.

For nature lovers, nearby gorges offer both gentle and rigorous hiking trails to explore. And if you're interested in history and culture, our location is ideal for visiting Cathar strongholds, medieval towns, and fashionable cities like Narbonne and Beziers, all within a convenient 20-minute drive. Moreover, Montpellier, Perpignan, and Carcassonne are just an hour away by car.

Food enthusiasts will be delighted by the numerous gastronomic destinations surrounding Mirepeisset. You can embark on guided tours, tastings, and demonstrations at interesting locations such as the olive press and an award-winning goatscheese farm where you can witness the cheese-making process. There's also a passionate beekeeper offering 12 unique honeys to taste, a traditional artisan baker who might teach you the art of bread-making, and a plethora of great restaurants to satisfy your culinary cravings. Don't miss the vibrant Narbonnes covered food market, rivaling the famous Boqueria in Barcelona.

Within an hour's drive, you can visit quaint fishing villages, the renowned Noilly Prat Vermouth winery (essential for risotto or beurre blanc), the salt pans of Gruissan, and the oyster beds of Bouzigues. And if you're visiting during winter, ski resorts are just one and a half hours away.

Art enthusiasts will find plenty to indulge in as well. The village of Salleles, next to Mirepeisset, houses one of the world's most renowned patchwork museums. Impressive modern art galleries can also be found in Bages near Narbonne and in Lezignan. Narbonne's ultra-modern theater hosts a variety of events, including classic and experimental plays, as well as concerts by artists from around the world.

Getting to our location is easy. If you're coming from Perpignan on the A9, take exit 38 (Narbonne Sud) and follow the N9 towards Beziers. At the third roundabout, turn left towards Marcorignan and continue straight for approximately 12 kilometers, then turn right to Mirepeisset. In the center of the village (La Placette), you'll find us nestled between the restaurant La Taverna and the little grocery shop, with a car park conveniently located on the right-hand side of the restaurant.

If you're traveling from Montpellier on the A9, take exit 36 (Castres, Mazamet) and turn right towards Castres, Mazamet, and St. Pons. Continue until the turn-off towards Montady (the 4th turn-off). At the T-junction, turn left and follow the road straight for 23 kilometers, then turn left almost immediately after Argeliers towards Mirepeisset. Follow the signpost and turn right into Mirepeisset center village. Again, you'll find us between the restaurant La Taverna and the little grocery shop, with a car park on the right-hand side of the restaurant.

If you're coming from Carcassonne, we recommend taking the D610 route (the direct road from Carcassonne to Beziers, which becomes the D11 later on) instead of the Autoroute. Follow the green sign for Narbonne, then look out for the sign for Trebes on the left, which will bring you to the D610. Keep going straight towards Beziers on that route. After Pouzols, take a right at the big roundabout towards St Marcel, then left at the next signpost for Mirepeisset. Once again, we are located between the restaurant La Taverna and the little grocery shop, with a car park on the right-hand side of the restaurant.
