The chateau is located in the Haute Loire region, at an altitude of 800m (over 2788 feet), on a vast granite plateau. It is positioned on the southern edge of the National Livradois Forest Park. The local climate is typical of a low mountain plateau, offering a diverse range of landscapes including upland pastures, forests, and rocky gorges.This location is perfect for those looking to explore the nearby towns of Craponne sur Arzon (just a 10-minute drive away), La Chaise Dieu (25 minutes away), and the world heritage site of Le Puy en Velay. Le Puy en Velay is not only a historic center in the Haute Loire region but also serves as a starting point for the St Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage route.

Directions
To reach St Andre de Chalencon from St Etienne, follow the signs towards Le Puy en Velay. Take the exit onto the Bas en Basset road. Continue on this road until you reach Retournac. A couple of minutes after passing the village of Jussac, you will come across a right turn marked Craponne. Take this turn and drive for approximately 5 minutes. After passing the hamlet called La Baraque, you will reach a crossroads. Take a right turn here towards St Andre de Chalencon.
As you drive up the hill from the Laberte river towards St Andre, you will see a left turn marked STADE. Take this turn and at the immediate T junction, make a left. This will lead you into Chazelles. Look out for a large annex building on your left, and just after it, you will find green iron entrance gates. If the gates are closed, ring the bell on the left by the gates and we will open them for you.
