Catherine and Benoit extend a warm welcome to you throughout the year at their charmingly renovated stone farmhouse in the Massif des Bornes-Aravis.You will find four comfortable bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and separate toilet, accommodating up to three people each (four in the family room). Furthermore, guests have access to a spacious lounge area, complete with a large table and a cozy reading nook filled with an array of books and board games.
Occasionally, and with advanced reservation, we offer the opportunity to dine at our table d'hôte for groups.
Located just a short distance away, the Col de la Forclaz offers breathtaking views of the crystal-clear waters of Lake Annecy. This mountain pass is renowned for its popularity among paragliders, hang gliders, cyclists, and hikers.
Whether you prefer gliding through the air, snow, or water, cycling, embarking on mountain walks, or simply unwinding in a tranquil and serene environment, la Chavane will captivate you.

* If you are coming from Annecy, drive along the eastern shore of the lake and pass through Annecy-le-Vieux, Veyrier du Lac, and Menthon St Bernard. After passing Echarvines, take the D42 road towards Col de la Forclaz / Montmin before reaching Talloires. Ignore Vérel and continue to cross Col de la Forclaz and Montmin Chef-Lieu. After Montmin Chef-Lieu, there is a small road on the corner of Ferriere hamlet. Take this road opposite to Montmin Plan.
* If you are coming from Ugine / Albertville, follow the signs for Annecy. Go around Faverges Marlens and stay on the D1508 road, which temporarily becomes a 4-way. At the second roundabout after the end of the 4-way, take the D42 road (1st exit) towards Montmin / Col de la Forclaz. Pass through Vesonne and start climbing towards Montmin. In the hamlet of La Ferriere, take the small road on the right, which leads to Plan Montmin through a hairpin turn.
* Once you are on the communal route to Plan Montmin, continue on the road for 1.5 km until you reach the top village of Plan Montmin. Drive through the village and you will reach the bottom of Plan Montmin, just 100 m away. The Chavane is the first house on the left side, facing a meadow with a small chalet.
