Our beautiful guest house is full of character and is located in the heart of Florence's historical center. Locanda Gallo is situated in the Quartiere San Lorenzo, one of the most important historical sectors of the city.Housed in a traditional Florentine building, Locanda Gallo features a small entrance and charming little stairs. The guest house is located on the 3rd floor of a historic palace from the 1400s that once hosted a part of the "Spedale dei Cavalieri di Malta."
In September 2007, we renovated our rooms and reception area. Currently, we offer various room options, including four-bed private rooms with en suite bathrooms, triple private rooms with en suite bathrooms (one with a kitchen corner), and double private rooms with en suite bathrooms and kitchen corners. All of our rooms are sunny, clean, and newly furnished. Each room provides a private bathroom, TV, free Wi-Fi internet access, and air conditioning. We also offer personal sets of keys to each guest.
At Locanda Gallo, there is no curfew, allowing guests to come and go as they please. Some of our double rooms also feature kitchen corners, making them ideal for longer stays.
We pride ourselves on providing a friendly and clean environment, along with excellent services and a central location. And all at the best prices you can find in Florence!
In addition to our comfortable accommodations, we offer several amenities and services, including a reception area where guests can use our computer with free internet connection. We also provide a range of additional services such as TV, air conditioning, room service (on request), linen and hand towels, kitchen corners in our studios, hairdryers (upon request), availability of a private tour guide, laundry service (available in some rooms), assistance with booking museum tickets, bicycle rental, city maps, cell phone rental, and free Wi-Fi in all rooms. We also have a cleaning service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and personal safes for our guests' convenience. Garage parking is available for an additional fee of 15 euros per day.
At Locanda Gallo, we have a partnership with typical Florentine restaurants, ensuring that our guests have access to delicious local cuisine.
If you are looking for a standard, anonymous, and ordinary place, Locanda Gallo may not be the right choice for you. However, if you value courtesy, cleanliness, good services, and a central location, we are here to provide you with a memorable stay in Florence. Please note that our guest house is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors and does not have an elevator.

Directions
Our location is incredibly convenient, as the Central Railway Station is just a 15-minute walk away. From there, you can easily explore Florence and visit nearby attractions such as the Duomo, which is also a 15-minute walk, and the David, which is only a 10-minute walk. The Santa Maria Novella train station is a 20-minute walk away. The Galleria dell'Accademia, where you can see the original David by Michelangelo, is only 500 meters away. The Cathedral is just 400 meters away, and the Uffizi Gallery is 800 meters away.
In addition to these attractions, we have all the necessary amenities nearby, including an internet cafe, numerous bars and pubs, many restaurants (including one that caters to vegetarians), a launderette, supermarket, bank, police station, and the open-air market of San Lorenzo.

From the Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence, you can take the shuttle to the Santa Maria Novella train station. From there, it's a 10-15 minute walk. Simply walk along via Nazionale until you reach via XXV aprile, then turn right and continue until you reach via S. Gallo. Turn left onto via S. Gallo, and you'll find us at number 73.
By Train:
If you're arriving at the Santa Maria Novella train station, it's just a 10-15 minute walk to our location. Take the exit on the left for Piazza Adua, then walk along via Nazionale until you reach via XXV aprile. Turn right onto via XXV aprile and continue until you reach via S. Gallo. Once on via S. Gallo, turn left and you'll find us at number 73. Look for the sign that says "Locanda Gallo."
By Car:
If you're coming from the north, Pisa, or the A1 Bologna-Milano and A11 Lucca-Genova highways, exit at Firenze Nord and follow signs for the city center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. After passing under the Fortezza da Basso, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini and turn right at the first traffic light onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, turn left onto Via San Gallo and look for number 73. Our sign says "Locanda Gallo."
If you're coming from the south, Siena (SS22), or the A1 Roma-Napoli highway, exit at Firenze Sud and follow signs for the city center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. When you reach Piazza della Libertà, turn left at the first traffic light and continue on Viale Lorenzo il Magnifico. At the first light, turn left onto Via Poliziano, and at the next traffic light, cross the street and keep right onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, turn left onto Via San Gallo and look for number 73. Our sign says "Locanda Gallo."
